Darin Stanfield

Darin attended the University of Louisville and began his insurance career in 1991 with Humana, Inc. Darin’s experiences with Humana included health insurance claims payments, customer service inquiries, medical provider reimbursements and account services in the Louisville market office. In 1994, Darin accepted a position in Humana’s Cincinnati sales and marketing office as a group sales representative.

In late 1995, Darin returned to Louisville to pursue a career as an independent insurance agent/broker with Nelson Insurance Agency, Inc. This move allowed Darin to better service his customers by having access to major carriers in each area of coverage. Darin has remained in this capacity since 1995, although through acquisitions and mergers, he has worked with Hickman & Miller Insurance, Inc. and Thompson Associates, Inc. In 2004, Darin rejoined Nelson Insurance Agency in a position that allowed Darin to maintain his current customers and have an ownership interest in his accounts.

Darin specializes in all aspects of employer-based employee benefit plans. This primarily includes medical, dental, life and disability coverages. His expertise also includes individual coverages for business owners, such as life, disability and long-term care insurance. Darin also holds licenses in Property & Casualty Insurance that allows Darin to assist his customers with all of their insurance needs.

Darrin is married with two daughters. His hobbies include attending high school basketball, outdoor activities and spending quality time with family and friends at the lake.
