Melvin Howard

Melvin is a graduate of the University of Louisville, with a B.S. Degree in Accounting. Melvin began his insurance career in 1986 with Home Life Insurance Co., a personal insurance and investment planning firm. Melvin specialized in individual life insurance and personal financial planning while at Home Life, primarily focusing on long-term and retirement planning.

In 1989, Melvin left Home Life and joined National Life of Vermont, with their dedicated trust department, to continue his focus on long term planning. While at National Life, Melvin became their disability insurance specialist and marketed their products to independent agents throughout Kentucky.

In 1992, Melvin joined Stauffer Financial Services, as part of a team servicing all areas of insurance and investments. During Melvin’s time with this agency, he began working with group employee benefits.

In November 1996, Melvin joined Nelson Insurance Agency, Inc. to help expand this Agency’s life, health and employee benefits division. Melvin works with his clients to provide employee benefit plans tailored to fit their specific needs. This primarily includes group medical, life, dental, disability, vision, and 401 (K) plans. Melvin also can assist your individual, life, disability and long-term care insurance needs, will, estate and business planning.
